At Laser Couture we only use LASER, the medical grade CYNOSURE VECTUS.

Laser is highly effective as it works on a single wavelength and produces more heat which reaches deeper into the hair follicle, delivering higher impact.

On the other hand, IPL works on a broad spectrum, which is similar in principle to a light bulb, and is therefore less likely to penetrate deep into the hair follicle. Also, since men tend to have deeper and thicker hair, there is a greater possibility of a skin burn, especially on darker skin types.

Laser delivers safer and better results, and is therefore the preferred choice for hair removal treatments.

The laser targets the pigment in the hair. Laser transfers focussed heat deep into the hair follicle, which cuts off the blood supply and results in stunting hair regrowth.

We treat everyone and all areas that can be treated.

There are multiple treatments available for long-term reduction of hair and these depend on the type of hair and hair colour. The number of sessions required depends on various parameters, including the area of the body being treated, skin colour, coarseness of hair, and gender.

Though not mandatory, it is always advisable to take a Patch test to check for skin reaction before commencing the treatment. This also allows you to get familiar with the sensation.

Pain threshold varies from person to person, but generally the sensation can feel like an elastic band flicking the skin.

After a session there can be some redness, itching or swelling (like heat bumps) and can last 2-3 days. The skin returns to its original condition once the sessions cease. This is why we recommend a Patch test prior to commencing the treatment.

While the treatment is on, we advise our clients to avoid direct exposure to sunlight, especially for long duration. One does not have to remain fully covered at all times but its best to avoid direct exposure to the sun as much as possible.

If a client insists on getting a sun tan or remain exposed to the sun for long duration, it is well advised to use SPF30 as a minimum on the body and SPF50 on the face.

No. Since fake tans contain pigment and laser is attracted to pigment, there is high probability of a skin burn during the laser treatment. We advise all clients to remove all fake tans completely during the treatment and refrain from using any fake tan prior, during and post treatment, until the skin returns to its normal condition.

We prefer you shave the treatment area, as best results are achieved when the laser picks up the pigment present in the remaining hair.

Laser is known to act faster and is more affective on darker hair and lighter skin types. However, some blonde/red/grey hairs have been known to reduce after treatment.

Treatment intervals guide only:

  • 1st and 2nd treatment is always 4 weeks apart
  • Face: 4 weeks apart
  • Bikini, lower arms, chest, stomach, back and legs: 6-8 weeks apart

The duration per sessions depends on the size of the area to be treated and the client’s tolerance for treatment. The normal durations are as follows:

  • X small areas: 5-10 mins
  • Small areas: 10-20 mins
  • Medium areas: 15-30 mins
  • Large areas: 30 mins +
